DETAILS: A week ago Faith shocked many people when she upset the X-Factor Champion in a non-title match. It was a street fight, and it played right into her hands though, and the big question on everyone's mind is whether or not she has what it takes to defeat the champion when the gold is on the line. We're going to find out, as Faith gets her title shot at the champion in a match which plays to his strengths this time; a submission only match.

WINNER: The match was closer than a quick look over the sims would suggest to you, as Homicide closed ground in the roleplay department. Still, overcoming a four point lead against somebody who does a good job of pacing the match is difficult to accomplish. In the end, despite his best efforts, Homicide isn't able to score the five extra points. It might have been different on another week, when he was at full activity, but this wasn't that week. The match never reached its apex, but it was a good read. Both writers played to their strengths, but I didn't see a lot of innovation in the story. The outcome?

DETAILS: He's been tackling everyone in the Network except for the one man who made him angry enough to quit the organization. Now Malice will finally go one on one with the greatest and most decorated member of his family in a family feud match that allows any member of the Miller family to get involved. We'll see if any of them are going to take sides in this little war.

DETAILS: When Geno stood up in the booking meeting and argued that Shane had earned herself a title shot, a lot of questionable looks went around the room. Some members of The Powerbase believe that Geno was simply guaranteeing that his partner in crime, Johnny XS, would complete 2009 with an undefeated streak. Geno swears that Shane is the best equipped person to give XS a real run for his money and make sure that The Streak really means something when the year finally comes to a close. We're going to find out, because they're going to contest for XS's championship inside a steel cage!

Last time I was hard on XS, but this time I think he was at his best. The “match” starts with Johnny cutting am interview announcing he was hurt and not going to wrestle, and the rest of the match is all about XS in “scramble” mode trying to find a way to NOT have to face Shane. Johnny XS was great in showing The Network like I remember them back when they started. I did not care for the racial humor, but that is XS, and the “speed of a Puma cloraform rag” are minor complaints. Shane was out posted by Malice in the match, and most her posts seemed more about her seeming like a badass then anything else. In the End the STREAK rolls on

DETAILS: Swingblade may be defending this week, but the company wants to see more action for their 24/7 wrestling championship and as such they have decided to name a number one contender heading into the new year. Riding the high of his win over Jessi to become the Harbinger Champion last week, Joe is primed for a chance to keep moving up. Standing in his way are Dan Haven and newcomer Yuki Miyazaka. Haven has been cleared to wrestle, but nobody is quite sure if he's going to turn into the force that his reputation says he should be. Yuki is a new signing, fresh from some time in Federation X's Japanese sister company NJPW X, where she caught the eye of Von Braun during a recent series of matches against the champion Dirty Gaijin. Will she or Dan upset the Harbinger Champion to become the #1 contender?

When you see the names Joe Power, Yuki Miyazaki and Dan Haven attached to a match, you know the writing is going to be top notch. A few of the posts were short and a bit rushed feeling, but the writing was as good as I'd expect from these three. Time understandably gets short at this time of year, and the match suffered from it. The match itself didn't start until the last day of the card, which is disappointing, considering that the competitors are among the best match action writers in the game today. Yuki takes a big lead on the sim and adds to it with the most consistent posting of the three. Winner = Yuki Miyazaki

DETAILS: Despite the claims of Team SBFF, Over/Under are still the Tag Team X-Citement Champions and they'll defend them this week against the unusual and daunting tandem of Intoxicated Hotness. Can they deal with the Whiskey Fueled Bitch and The Girl You Dream About? It's a match where the championships are suspended above the ring......but it isn't your classic ladder match. You see........the winners will be the two wrestlers who come down with a belt, but there is nothing in the rules that says it has to be two wrestlers from the same team!! It'll take a lot of work to make sure that nothing goes wrong as the tandems try and leave as champions!

In yet another underwhelming match on this card (maybe we should take off the week between Christmas and New Year's Day), Over/Under retains the X-Citement belts. The match was interesting with Eve and Chance taking out Faith so that Meng and The Barbarian could take the match. But Faith only posted once, leaving her team in the lurch. I was a little disappointed that no one made mention of "pregnant" Eve getting drunk. Winners: Over/Under

DETAILS: In the second round of the King of The Ring, Alan Scott defeated Aaron Action narrowly to move on to the semi-finals. Since then Aaron has set out to prove he's more than a one trick pony by leaving the BLoodsport Division behind and taking up residence as a daunting Superstar Champion. Now the two of them will meet in a street fight (between two abandoned tenements in a Detroit slum) and one of them will win the right to dictate the terms of the other's next title defense. Let's just hope things don't get as crazy as last time folks!

Well folks in what should have been a huge popper of a match ended up turning into more of a fizzle. Both men show up and get to work but sadly thats about as far as this one went. Alan runs into an old friend who is now homeless, as well as Arron running into a young man and sees just how much of an impression he's made in one young mans life. In the end this one ends up being Awesome Arrons match. Taking it both in the sims and in RP.

DETAILS: Swing faces a real challenge in his first defense, as he runs into the ever dangerous technician Nate Daniels and newcomer to the scene, Jaysen. No tricks or gimmicks in this one, just a straight up triple threat match in which the first person to score a pinfall or submission wins the belt.

A match that could have been so much better considering the talent (or potential in Jaysen's case) saw no posts on day 3. Captain Vanilla gets off to a big sim lead, as well as a slight RP lead, but leaves the door open thanks to a bad case of bronchitis... which I'm pretty sure is inflammation of the vagina. Fortunately for Nate, neither the rookie nor the champion takes advantage, and Nate Daniels uses his technical superiority to bring the Pure Wrestling Championship back home to The Network.

DETAILS: Two of them were on rolls, but the holidays have knocked them off a little bit while the third is newly signed and looking to turn some heads with his debut. They'll be opening the show and looking to set themselves up for a chance to win a 3rd Man In Contract. All they have to do is total 10 quality posts between the three of them and somebody will get to put themselves into any title match they want. That and get the crowd fired up.

DETAILS: Two weeks ago Over/Under shocked the world and upset the tag team champions to unify the company's two sets of tag team titles, injuring Alan Scott in the process. Now, just two weeks later there are serious questions about whether or not the former champions are physically capable of performing, but their manager has made sure they're going to get their shot no matter what. In a match which will have extra referees at ringside to avoid the confusion that took place last week, with each side getting to name one qualified referee prior to the start of the match, and Earl Cronkner acting as head referee within the ring.

WINNER: First impressions: Stan Daniels started off by setting the tone for the match. Alan Scott followed up nicely and added his own piece to the drama. In the beginning of the match though, I felt as though Genocide was acting as a supporting character to Alan and Stan’s show, rather than adding another layer to it. Matt McDervish’s early work, while good, did nothing to contribute to the meta-plot that Stan and Alan had started. Too many times, Matt did little to nothing to advance things. This changed later on though, as he started the plotline which eventually lead to the climax of the match, but I can’t help but feel he changed too late. Also, I was not a fan of how dominant Matt seemed to make himself at times, and would recommend to him to add fewer highlight reel moments in his matches and lean more toward better paced action, though this did not impact the score heavily. Genocide started out weak in the beginning, but found his footing mid-match and held his ground.

In the end, this match was all about Stan and Alan. The two played off of one another rather well, and while Alan seemed content to follow Stan’s lead, he did so in such a way that it fit perfectly with the progression of the story. His last one raised many questions, leaving us wondering several different things, which could all be used to create new angles, so that helps, but not crucial to the scoring of the match.

After crunching the numbers, the final decision is, by a gap of only four points, TEAM SBFF!!!

DETAILS: Take the X-Factor Champion and put him in a match with one of wrestling's all time greats and you get yourself a hell of a match. Put him somewhere WITHOUT a ring, and let them simply fight it out to see which of them can actually make it to the ring to win the match? You get yourself the kind of ratings that sponsors die for.

WINNER: The outcome of this match was decided on the sims as we see Faith upset the reigning X-Factor champion in a non-title match. Could it lead to a title match down the road? While I didn't get the normal level of input from either of these two performers that I'm accustomed to seeing (nobody reached 4 posts!) what I did get was a look back at the kinds of hardcore street fights that were almost commonplace in the original Federation X. Homicide set the tone by sending out The Punisher's former enemy (although he didn't acknowledge this in his writing) Barracuda to unleash his black rage on Faith, who provoked the poor bastard by talking down about 'moors. The match was actually one of the efforts I have most enjoyed from Faith in a long time. I would like to see a touch more selling of the suffering she puts her body through, to balance her enormous ability to endure pain. Maybe read a little more about how her tactics are forced to change as her injuries mount. The match, while very entertaining, read a little bit like a comic book on both parts. Which is good if you happen to know how much I like comic books. Homicide did his usual solid work, although I would have liked to see more from Jeff, despite the twist of somebody else fighting for him. The strain of hearing his father constantly attacked was a thread of thought I think could have had more legs. In the end, the finish goes to Homie largely because too much of Faith's first post had nothing to do with progression of the match, and pertained to awards and deaths. Otherwise the rp would have been much tighter.

DETAILS: Last week Swingblade defeated Kieran Crowe to capture his first Federation X championship. Only seven days later he's going to get a shot at something even more prestigious! A chance to end.....THE STREAK. Since his return, Johnny XS has gone undefeated!! Just ask him, and ignore the liquid paper he's applied to the record books! So many others have taken their shot and come up just a little bit short; Eve Riley, Faith, Chance, Kitty Hawke, Adam Draven and more. Swingblade will get one of the last two chances in 2009 to stop THE STREAK.

WINNER: This match took on a couple of interesting twists that both men used fairly well to drive the storyline. Swing got off to a bit of a slow start, and his dialog went a bit wooden at times, but once he got into the match, he showed flashes of what I know he's capable of. Johnny came out swinging, and added two more wins to the Streak as well as doing some solid work for the match. The sim basically decided this match, and Swing just couldn't make up ground on the RP in this well-played match. Winner and STILL Streaking - Johnny XS

DETAILS: Jessi won the vacated Harbinger Championship at last Storm Warning, but now she's about to get her first real test. Joe Power is a force with a long string of wrestling championships in his past. The one thing Jessi can count on? He'll play it straight, and there won't be any cheating. Unless the rumors are true, and the cure that brought back the Real American Hero was only temporary, and could fail at any given time.

WINNER: This was a pretty good wrestling match. Not a lot of "Story or Heat" going into it, but given the holidays and it was Face vs Face. Prolly made it a hard match to build upto. Still bothe people did a good job. Jessi's prematch chat gave a view into what Emma Frost thinks about Eve's partner. The action was good as well. I think Jessi could add some detail and pacing to her work as she hit an inverted DDT at the start, but those aside I think it was a good effort. Joe did his normal work. I think he might of been able to do more if Faith was more active in the match as the selling of her was fun, and added to the match. The Sim gave it to Joe running away, but the match never read one sided and moved well. There was a mistake when Joe called Faith Chance. Beyond that I think both did well...

DETAILS: Once upon a time Krusher acquired the ultimate VR system; a holo-deck. It was the site of one of the company's most interesting events, and we still get a huge ratings bump whenever we replay it. At great expense we've arranged to use it again, and this time in a best two of three falls match with a slight twist; each competitor has submitted one scenario, and the Powerbase have submitted one. By random draw Aaron's scenario has been chosen to go first. When the first fall is scored, the second scenario will begin. In the event of a tie-breaker, The Powerbase scenario will be used.

WINNER: This was a fun read. Both wresters played off of one another very well and really embraced the spirit of the match. Aaron takes the lead early on, but Eve takes it right back by having Geno Fudd shoot her dead. Yes, you read that right. The match continues on this path and only gets better when we segue way into Star Wars. Both competitors continue playing off of one another well, and neither one seems to have much of the edge, although Han SOLO was a nice touch. In the end, Aaron sold just a teensy bit better, bringing more life to Eve’s twists than she brought to his, and that is what put him over.

DETAILS: The newest Powerbase member made sure that this one slipped by Geno's radar; a new Network associate in the ring with somebody who isn't overly fond of The Network and is more than happy to deliver that message in person. After running roughshod over people for the last week, will Shane be able to survive Malice?

DETAILS: Both men are noted for their pure wrestling ability, and were the topic of a recent debate amongst the Powerbase, which lead to a bet between Geno and Matt. The bet? That each man was so technically adept that if given a list of moves, and a series of point values for those moves based on complexity, style and impact, they would be able to outscore the other one in a twenty minute match, where move execution and not pinfalls or submissions would determine the winner.

WINNER: Nate won the match on the sim, and due to some scheduling conflicts, the match kind of died out early. The early efforts from both Nate and Kieran were solid though, and they gave us a taste of how solid a match-up they could be when both men were running at full steam.

DETAILS: This week the company welcomes back both Dan Haven and Mandy by asking them to open the card and flash some of the brilliance that got them their contracts in the first place. Let's see if they can put on the kind of show to open the night that makes the whole evening a pale imitation of their match.

DETAILS: It has been heating up between these two, as Malice seems to have focused in on Homicide after his failed attempt to take a pound of Alan Scott's flesh. His war against The Network isn't slowing down though and after last week's interruption of the celebration for X-Factor Scramble winner Homicide, Malice has managed to secure Eve Riley's title shot from her in return for a very simple thing; 15 minutes in conversation with The Positive One. What does all of that amount to? How about the nastiest of matches, and two men who DO NOT get along?

WINNER: There were some unexpected sim results on this card, just like there were on the last card. After Homi managed only a dead split down the middle in his matches, Malice saw the sim turn angry and kill him in every single match. That turned a tight competition into a wide open slaughter, giving Homicide his first ever retention of a major championship. There will be a party in The Megasuite tonight.

FINISHING RIGHTS: Finishing rights were actually much harder to decide than the outcome of the match. While Homicide is still the tighter technical writer there was a lot to be impressed by in the improving level of Malice's work. His introduction of creative themes and the way he keeps readers wrapped up in his emotions through the match are both strengths that he should continue to develop. Both men make solid efforts to sell what is set on the table in front of them, and there is give and take in their action, without being afraid to take a moment and dominate, which every match needs. I like that neither man wasted time getting into the match, and that they used it as a means to further enhance their heat. I think Malice could use some more practice on some of his commentator dialogue, but it didn't hurt him too badly because its an area that I think Homi is still growing in. So who's going to get the rights?

DETAILS: Faith hasn't been shy about targeting the Network's biggest source of power right now; Genocide. With his appointment as the player rep on The Powerbase, and his apparent association with The Powerbase's most influential member, Faith knows that by taking the fight to Geno she's in the best possible position to impact The Network. With a pay per view not coming until Mid January, she'll get to cross swords with him for the first time this week, but both of them will have a partner. Geno will be working with the most recent person to give The Network a shot at their soul, Shane Kinneas. The daughter of Arc Kinneas clearly has an interest in Nate Daniels and The Network, but is she ready to be in the ring with the female fighting machine known as Faith?

For her part Faith will get a partner she knows all too well, and has never much cared for; Positive Joe Power. Faith has always disliked Joe almost as much as she has looked up to his father. Can they overcome that dynamic to take a win away from The Network? Maybe, but that will all depend on if they can properly navigate the rules......which say that Faith isn't allowed to be the legal man in the ring when Geno is, and vice versa. Any tag made automatically switches the legal man for BOTH teams.

Men v men, and women v women. Damn! It almost seems like Geno had a hand in booking the match, doesn't it? But there IS a caveat; the winner will get to decide who their opposite (men to men, women to women) will face at the PPV!

DETAILS: It's THE STREAK v THE BELT as these two men will wrestle a best 2 of 3 falls match to determine the winner. After another win last week, we'll find out if Johnny XS can ride his incredible winning streak all the way to 2010, or if Adam Draven, the newly crowned X-Ecutioner Champion is going to end the streak and cement his spot as a top tier champion in the company! And as if these two needed anything else to fight about, there is always the issue of somebody chemically castrating somebody.

WINNER: This match was a clusterfuck plain and simple. The subplots took the main stage. There was an Ed clone and what "Match action" I saw was not what I expect from either guy. Adam needs to learn to deal with twists and not plow through them. XS I'm not sure what to say. When he wants to he can be one of the best heels in the game all time. In this match he seemed to want to do comedy, but it just was not funny. In the end Johnny's bonus points all three days wins him the belt.

DETAILS: Swing must have impressed somebody last week, because when the ruling came down that Alan Scott would need time to heal his leg after the Tag Team X-Cellence title match at Storm Warning, he was immediately chosen as one of the two competitors that would compete to replace Alan as the Pure Wrestling Champion. His opponent? None other than Alan's former nemesis, and longtime Network hater Kieran Crowe. With submission as the only way to win this, these two men will each get a chance to wrap some gold around their waist.

Jessi doesn't max her opportunity which allows Eve to pull the victory out from under her in RP. Those bonus points count and really did so here. DETAILS: Two big men have invaded our ranks, and both come for very different reasons. Drake didn't want to be here, but was lead here by a friend and the promise of fame and wealth. Arc came because he was searching for his daughter Shane. Common logic would say that Arc, with his history, would be the frontrunner, but Drake has a little extra youth, and power like we seldom see. We've booked them in a ladder match to see just how ready they are for a real battle.

DETAILS: Nate Daniels has become the number one contender to the Superstar belt and has challenged Aaron Action. Aaron has stated he’ll defend the belt against who ever the Powerbase puts in front of him. Tonight he’ll face Nate “It isn’t Lightning because that’s how quick I am with the ladies” Daniels in a falls count anywhere match. Oh, one last thing. Homicide and Adam Draven may not get physically involved in this match in any way. Doing so will result in severe penalties.

WINNER: Let me just start off with the strangest of facts; I really didn't enjoy this match at all, and yet the scores were solid. Some of the people who have seen me breaking down scores know what a hard ass I can be in scoring, and that I'll hang people for the smallest things I didn't like. So they know that a set of scores above 3 is very uncommon for me. You would think that a match in which I have out a fair number of them would be a damn fine match, but the truth is that something about this match just didn't work. Aaron clearly didn't like the arc that Nate was progressing, and there was an undercurrent of struggle between the two men that interfered with the flow of the match. The final outcome was very tight, but there was no good reason for that. Either man could have taken control of the match simply by changing one thing he was doing. Nate took far too long (4 posts) before he got into any real action and it cost him. He was bolstered by his introduction of creative ideas in the early going, and finished strong. For Aaron, he wasn't his usual 'selling' self and he didn't add a lot of his normal creative twists to the match. He did stay focused on action and he did a better job of action and match progression early on. Dialogue from both was solid.

Aaron won the first 3 posts, and Nate won the last 3. But despite their excellent scores, both men could have done much better in my opinion. Aaron retains by a very narrow margin, in a match that (for me) is about what was missing, and not what they achieved, which was better than average.

DETAILS: The match will be held in the Elimination Chamber. Eve and Genocide will start the match, with the other three locked in Pods. The fourth Pod is the exit, which becomes important at the end of the match.So, the first two competitors start the match, and battle one-on-one for three minutes. At the end of that three minutes, one of the Pods will open at random and another competitor will enter the match. This will continue every three minutes until all five wrestlers are in the ring.

Then the match starts. Once the final competitor escapes his Pod, the timer resets to thirty minutes, and the match becomes a “Capture The Belt” match. The champion wrestles with the belt around his or her waist, and the other four competitors try to take it. When the timer reaches zero, the FINAL pod will open and whoever can gain possession of the belt and take it OUT of the cage to the floor will be the X-Factor Champion.

OOC – the match will work this way:

Day 1: Prematch posts will be allowed until 6pm. Any post after 6pm board time MUST be in the ring as described. At any time after 6pm wrestlers assigned to start the match in a pod may RP their pod opening and entering the match.

RP Rules - There will be a 2 post hard cap for scoring, plus a 1 point bonus if your posts are at least 3 hours apart OR separated by a post from another competitor in the match.

WINNER: What a match. With no interferences, it still managed to be one of the most hectic and chaotic matches we've seen in a long time. It was disappointing to see the people eliminated on earlier days disengage from the match, as it robbed the remaining competitors of the challenge of selling other posts than their own, but all in all both Homicide and Eve Riley (Faith) did a terrific job of moving stories along, and bringing new elements into play as the event progressed. Who was behind the malfunctioning pods? Why do things keep happening to make the Powerbase look like it's out to screw The Network? Did Nate really try and bang his sister? All great questions, but not as great as this one; WHO WON?

The sim decided that for us, when Homicide really pulled away on the last day with a massive lead. He and Eve went back and forth in the roleplay catagory, and were left to determine finishing rights by themselves when those who had been eliminated stopped posting. Homie's your new X-Factor Champion, but the finish?

DETAILS: When The Powerbase announced that Alan would be defending the Pure Wrestling Championship at Feast or Famine, there was a large lineup trying to make sure they were booked against him. The strange part was that none of them were concerned with the belt; they all just wanted a piece of the Last HONEST Man. The winners of that competition? Mandy and Malice. But each of them gets into the match with a stipulation. Alan will put the championship on the line. Mandy will put Alan's free will on the line. Malice would put the truth on the line. If Mandy loses she has to remove the curse she's put on Alan, returning his free will to him. If Malice loses, he has to agree to a public lie detector session, with Alan and Geno asking the questions. If Alan loses, he loses the title, remains trapped under Mandy's curse and will find himself in the lie detector while Cedrick Caesar asks the questions! And to make sure there is no doubt about who won, we're booking them in a thirty minute Iron Man match!

This is going to be.....the LAST HONEST MATCH.

XS is in the midst of one of wrestling's greatest streaks, but stepping into the ring with an angry drunk doesn't seem like it would be at the top of his list of things to do. Too bad. Faith's got some pull at the moment, and she's going to get a match that suits her disposition these days.

Now the Broman Empire is gone, and Matt and Stan are primed to make Homie and Nate pay for their betrayal in the best way they can; they're going to take the Tag Team X-Citement Titles away from them!

DETAILS: Aaron and Adam, after only one successful title defense, ran a very impressive marketing campaign trying to intimate that Team SBFF needed to face some of the other tag teams to establish their title reign properly. It would appear that Alan and Geno were listening, because they sent Marlowe to the Powerbase office with a very specific agreement; they were ready to face The HOT Girls. Not just any HOT Girls though. Alan and Geno hired a team of MIT grads to study the performance trending of The Hot Girls for the year of 2009, and establish which tandem were the very best version of the team. The answer? Chance & Haley! So after much deliberation, TEAM SBFF have decided that they will defend at Feast or Famine against The HOT Girls best possible tandem and determine once and for all which team is better.

As an unrelated aside: voting for douchebag of the month will take place during the match, with each qualified nominee recounting their credentials from the past month.

DETAILS: The little irish girl has gotten herself into a championship match against one of the biggest men in the company. Aaron Action has been tapped to defend the Superstar Championship against Jessi, and the streets surrounding the arena will be the venue. WINNER: Jessi: She started out well enough, selling and reacting to Aaron’s story well. A very short interview hurt her score, in addition to missing a post(and potential bonus point) on the second day. The addition of Kyle wasn’t a bad idea, but one can’t help but feel as though she was content to sit back and let Aaron run the match. Her action was solid though, and this is one area that she excells in.

Aaron Action: Took charge from the beginning. Poor dialogue hurt his first post, but was quickly corrected in roleplay. From there, his match action is solid, but it is the interplay between John and Hank that really shines. From the allergic reaction to his selling of fighting Kyle, he offered interesting twists to the match.

DETAILS: With the retirement of Trauma due to medical reasons, there has been some debate amongst The Powerbase regarding the immediate future of the Bloodsport Championship. Von Braun has brought forth an argument that the company needs to focus more on the roots of professional wrestling and has nominated a new championship to take its place as our 24/7 challenge belt; the PURE WRESTLING Championship. Details will appear on the SIM site shortly regarding this belt's rules, but I can sum them up for you here; exactly like the BS belt with a couple of small changes:

1. ONLY standard matches may be fought.
2. DQ LOSSES mean automatic loss of the challenge (because that means you cheated!!)
3. DQ WINS means automatic win of the challenge (because that means THEY cheated!!)

What does that mean tonight? Well, Von Braun is going to start the night out by waiting for somebody to come on by and ask for the belt. That person will then have to face as many challenges as there are throughout the night. The person who leaves Ground Zero with the championship will be our first ever PURE WRESTLING champion.

Step One in that battle just got laid at her feet too. Eve is finally going to get her shot to step back onto the top of the mountain, a place where only Alan Scott has been as often as she has. DETAILS: Aaron was livid that Alan did what he did to Mandy & Eve's puppy and he petitioned the Powerbase for a chance to make the Last Honest Man suffer for his crime. Peta has sponsored a match that will put Alan at the mercy of some of the most dangerous animals in the world, and Aaron will get to decide when to let them get involved. In the match to end all matches, the Hell in the Cell style cage is surrounded by a moat - to be filled with Australian salt water crocs. Not enough? There is a trap door in the middle of the ring that when opened, could cause a wrestler to fall into the lion's pen that is positioned beneath the ring. Want more revenge on Alan? On each of the ringposts sits an opaque cage, and only Aaron knows what is inside. Aaron has been given full control over when the trap door opens and when the opaque cages open.

Can Alan get a pinfall without being thrown out of the ring, falling through the trap door, or being exposed to a natural predator?

In a shortened match, sometimes it's tough to get the same flow as a regular match, but these two make an enjoyable match out of a pretty unusal gimmick. Aaron builds a comfortable SIM lead as Alan chokes on almost as grand a scale as his SBFF. A valiant effort on the boards can't overcome the lead, giving Aaron Action the victory.

DETAILS: Athelstan of Broken Helix put himself into a championship situation in only his second match with the company. While his partner is recovering from a mild knee strain, he needed a match. The call went out and The Network answered, sending in the veteran Nate Daniels to remind everyone impressed by Athelstan's rise to power that he wasn't yet a force in the company. Can Athelstan prove Nate wrong?

Krusher has booked eight men to step into one hellacious match! What makes this match such a challenge is that the only way for players to be eliminated is for them to fail to answer a ten count. Nine times one of the toughest competitors in wrestling will have to be counted down before one person will raise their arms in victory!

WINNER: Any time you throw eight people into one match, you expect a certain amount of inadvertent no-sells as people often post within a few minutes of each other. This match was surprisingly free of that, with only a few small places where the narrative gets rough. A solid effort all the way around by some of the best writers in the game make this a well-paced, entertaining match. Kieran Crowe takes the lead on the SIM and manages to hold off the field with his RP. In yet another match where posts and RP bonus points being left on the table has an impact on the outcome, with only two competitors hitting the post cap and gaining full RP bonus, Kieran holds onto his SIM lead and takes the victory! Congrats, and welcome to the Scramble, Weedy!

DETAILS: After laying down for Genocide, Homicide has decided to go back to his championship roots and pursue the Superstar Championship recently won by Aaron Action. Von Braun seems to be the only Powerbase member taking issue with that and while he hasn't been able to convince the rest of the operations committee to get on board with him, he has been able to secure the rights to name a guest referee. Who is it going to be? That's a surprise for during the match! But I will say this; I hear whispers that it isn't the kind of guy to put up with a lot of horseshit. Tread carefully.

WINNER: Two of the best writers in the game prove once again why they're in the Superstar championship match. Both of these men know their strengths, and both play to those strengths. Homicide keeps the story flowing, never letting the plot lag. Homie's match action improves with each match, and is quickly becoming a strength. There were a couple of things that I had a bit of trouble following, including locking in a legal submission hold in the center of the ring and then using it as a bargaining chip rather than just trying to end the match. While it was an interesting twist, the rationale lost me. Aaron does his usual solid job, playing to his strengths with strong match action and smoothly flowing dialog. Again, there were a couple of areas where I felt he stumbled, such as missing Homicide's entrance, and regressing the timeline several times. Backing up and retelling a portion of the story from a different point of view can be effective, but when used too often what ends up happening is that storyline progression tends to suffer. Neither man spent a large amount of energy trying to come up with big, unexpected twists, with the surprise announcement of former Powerbase member (and possibly rehired?) Richard Grayson as special guest referee being really the main standout spot.

In the end, none of the small problems is real hindrance to the flow of the match, which could well go down as a classic. Both men did an outstanding job of keeping both the match and the story flowing, and both deserve to win the match. As we all know, however, only one of them can. In a tight match, the winner and still Superstar Champion, Aaron Action.

DETAILS: On the company's first trip through the Carolinas, nobody wants to see a weak opener. That's why the Powerbase took away the rules, and put down the names Striker and Malice. Both men are capable of making the big statement, and if they get in a groove they could steal the show. But will they? No rules....just win!

DETAILS: With some claims being targeted at The Powerbase after the end of their first match at Damnation!, Genocide and Homicide are going to go at it one more time. What's happened since their monumental first meeting? Nothing more than the full court press of The Network in their efforts to recruit Homicide into the fold. Homicide countered that by shocking everyone when he asked for Alan Scott as the guest referee in the match. No excuses. No interference. One of these men will walk out of Ground Zero the undisputed champion.

About the only thing we didn't see was Living Deadgirl's announced Enforcer -- who could have been of great use. DETAILS: Homicide offered Alan Scott a rematch. A chance to take back what was dubiously won. Alan turned down the shot in favor of a rematch for his grampa, and that left him wide open for the challenge from Bromate Matt McDervish, who wanted something straight forward and old school; a pure wrestling challenge. No cheating (which the HONEST one would never do, right?) no aerial moves, no weapons, and no working outside the ring. In fact, the match rules are going back to the old, OLD school rules. Throwing a man over the top rope means a disqualification loss. Now, some people didn't feel that Matt could count on Alan's integrity to face him without cutting corners, so they asked for a special guest referee.

He does some good promo work, but nothing we haven’t come to expect from him. Where he really shines is his first(and only) actual match post towards Matt McDervish, where he counters Matt’s innovative style with his own, bringing a sort of complexity with simplistic moves that you have to appreciate.

Matt McDervish: Not a slouch in the narration department either, he definitely set the mood and what his character was struggling through before a huge match. The dialogue was a teensy bit awkward at times, and his second post failed to have the same impact on me as Alan’s did, but the one(and again, only) match post he did was very interesting. It was the innovativeness of his move choice which really drew me in the end.

After all the scores were done, Matt McDervish wins finishing rights by a bonus point, but the extra point that Alan took on the SIM gives him the win.

My only hope is that these two tie up again in the future.

DETAILS: Johnny XS cemented his position as the #1 contender to the X-Ecutioner Championship in a little over 2 weeks since his return (an undefeated 2 weeks he would like you to recall!) Now he'll get his shot at Nate Daniels, but he won't get it alone. Aaron Action won a contract for a shot at Nate right before he defeated Kitty Hawke to become the Superstar Champion, so he'll get to participate in the match as well. All three men will be in the ring at the same time and the first one to score a pinfall or submission will be the champion. Count-outs and disqualifications (of 1 person) only eliminate that person from the match, they do not end the match!

WINNER: I cannot begin to tell everyone how entertaining I found this match. It had twists and turns, mixed with actual wrestling (well, but two out of three anyways) and some of the best dialogue I've seen in a long time. The three men involved in the match could give lessons on sharp, timely dialogue to many people. The last bonus point, and the fact that he never got to the ring hurt XS in the end, but that didn't stop him from just flat-out entertaining me. I'm not even sure which moment was my favorite, although I do enjoy when he insults people. He's just so good at it. His creativity is astounding......and a little bit scary. Nate was at his regular standard, which is why he's a top notch competitor in almost every match he's in. I did think that a couple of early misses hurt him a little bit, but he bounced back by showing great match action and story progression as the event went on. Nate is such a well rounded competitor that being ahead of him at one thing doesn't help you, because he sets the bar high in every area. At the end of it all though comes Aaron, who was simply outstanding. Not only does he always seem to do sensation dialogue, but he's just such a solid seller. If you want something sold, this is the guy you take it to. He made references to little subplots, pushed along main plots, focused on the match and referenced things that nobody else was even pushing, but were timely and topical. After a perfect tie between Nate and Aaron on the sim, this one became a roleplay match. Neither man gave ground in bonus points, so it came right down to their work from post to post, and I've got one man coming in less than a half point ahead of the other.

DETAILS: The former Superstar Champion will meet the iconic King of Karma Champion in a battle to put themselves in contention for the X-Ecutioner Championship. Both of them have an enormous amount of talent, but only one of them will be able to leave the match a step closer to the title picture. To make matters a little more difficult, the company has decided to make it a NO DQ's match. Given the drama that surrounds these two at any given time, that should produce some interesting results.

Folks, when you're in a match against a team with the pedigree and history of Team SBFF, THAT is saying something! We'll find out if The A-Team can back him up.

WINNER: I think Geno said it best in his last post: The Main Event of Storm Warning had indeed transformed itself from a pretty standard Tag Team Championship match in to a full blown clusterfuck. With all of the combustable elements around the ring, it was bound to explode. A managerial switch... the surpising return of Brute Bernard... the even more surprising return of the undead Acid Ed... rioting school children. To say that the match had completely broken down would be an understatement. Homicide, Kitty Hawke, Saint Walker, Brute Bernard, Nate Daniels, Stan Daniels and Shreddy Mercury all jumped in to add a post to the action. IN the end, the INT system gave Team SBFF an edge they didn't need (when everyone INT'd FOR The A-Team and they ALL lost!) as they crushed on the SIM all match long. Newcomer Matt McDervish will test his mettle as he tries to supplant Angelica from her spot in the rankings and move ever closer to the coveted #1 contendership. Angelica won't be a pushover though, as she's proven in recent battles for the Superstar Championship. The former champion will undoubtedly be looking for a chot of her own in the near future, and that means putting the Mad Dog down.

I know Gelli is a vamp with a healing factor and all but still. That kind of stuff really takes me out of the match due to how far-fetched it is.

After being near the top of contention on numerous occasions, the Awesome One is finally going to step into the ring with the reigning Superstar Champion and go one on one in a last man standing match. WINNER: Early on in this match I watched some terrific writing that, in my opinion, did little to set-up the match or relate to it. Both writers were talented enough to weave the story of the match in such a way that it brought itself back around to be relevant as the match wound down, which is a compliment to them. I still think it left me wondering why I was reading about things that had no direct relation to the match as I started out. It might have helped if the posts that were setting up points to be drawn on later also had some focus on the match that was coming. Or more focus in Aaron's case as his did have a little.

Once the match action got going we got to see the strengths of both performers. Kitty, as we all have come to know, writes some of the very best prose I've seen in some time. Her dialogue is making progress each week, and she's starting to show some good match action flow. Aaron's always done a sensation job of dialogue, and while his prose isn't as strong as Kitty's he understands his strength as a writer and sticks to it, focusing on character interaction and match pacing. This one had some excellent twists and turns, pulling in elements from Adam Draven to Eve Riley to Nate Daniels before Kitty forfeits the championship to Aaron in order to protect her child. In the end though, Tristant is battered and bleeding.

It's an excellent read, but giving Aaron the extra post AND the extra bonus point on Day 3 was the difference. Aaron Action is your new champion.

DETAILS: Eve Riley is a three time X-Factor Champion who hasn't competed for one of the company's big singles belts in a long time. She has a burgeoning friendship with Homicide, the reigning X-Factor Champion, but she is also one of the top contenders to his championship. A non-title match will give her a chance to see if the fire to be one of the best ever still exists inside, while it will give Homicide a chance to measure himself against a former champion.

Good back and forth and nice interplay for a face v. face match. I could have done without the blood. It seems like every match I read, someone is bleeding from the nose. Think about real wrestling and how many times the participants get color. Even in MMA, blood isn't as frequent as it is in Fed X (Just a pet peeve.). Nice job from both. Eve picks up the win.

Trauma's been having a difficult time holding on to the Bloodsport Championship, thanks in no small part of Adam Draven, while Nate has had a break from defenses for the last two weeks, and needs to make sure he isn't getting rusty.

Kate entered the match with a solid strategy, but executing that strategy meant breaking down Nate Daniels, shattering his emotions. She did exactly that, and got the upper hand, but in the end it was Nate who got the win. The real question though is whether or not he'll ever recover.

Internet rumors suggest that he has a close history with Matt McDervish and that the signing of Mad Dog helped to cement his own deal. We are also hearing that there are plans to try and press him into a position to become the new X-Ecutioner Champion at the expense of current champion Nate Daniels!!

DETAILS: For the better part of the month it looked like we were in for a clash between Adam Draven and Joe Power, but when the Powerbase ruled the match too dangerous to sanction, Draven executed a back-up plan; he brought in Matt McDervish as his replacement! Now McDervish and Power will fight in the company's second ever Fall From Grace match. No rules and only one way to win: throw your opponent off of the scaffolding that is set up over the ring.

Not dangerous enough? How about this: Adam Draven is going to be locked in a cage suspended above the scaffolding. If McDervish can release Adam during the match, it becomes a two on one match! If Power defeats McDervish without that happening? We're going to hand Joe a military grade taser and let him have his way with a confined and defenseless Adam Draven!

DETAILS: One of them has never survived his first title defense in Federation X. The other one is a 24 time World Champion. One of them has been decorated in gold in recent months. The other one has been shut out since before the summer. The two of them are a part of the most bitter rivalry in the industry these days. And we just made it worse. MUCH WORSE.

In a Federation X original match, we have built 4 opaque chambers that are securely fastened atop each ringpost. They are positioned so not to interfere with the match action. Each chamber has a Dead Man's switch, which means that if it isn't held down (suppressed) the chamber opens. Since we can't expect somebody to be holding all the switch at all times, here's how the match will work: For every 5 minutes that the match is going, one of the switches will flash for ten seconds. At the end of that ten seconds, if it is suppressed, nothing will happen. But if it isn't suppressed......the chamber will open! Inside? A Federation X wrestler! For the next ninety seconds, that wrestler is permitted to interfere in the match in ANY WAY that they see fit!

Which wrestlers will be inside? That's OUR little secret!

WINNER: This is a match I was very much looking forward to until I found out I was judging it. The match stipulations, I thought, had some very interesting possibilities. Unfortunately, those possibilities were largely ignored until Day 3 due to some unexpected RP developments on Day 1. The match RP itself, I was - and I hate to use this terminology - but I was disappointed just a bit. The storyline was interesting and entertaining, but strongly peppered with no-sells and short-sells. Some of them were fairly small, some not so small. I Selling is the first criteria listed on my RP judging sheet for a reason. I always mark down for those breaks in selling, and they ended up making the difference in this match. After adding all the SIM scores and the INT's and the RP Scores, we have a tie, which means that Homicide retains.

DETAILS: The back and forth in the Tag Team division has never been as heated as it was this past month, when the Hot Girls dropped their belts to The Bromance, only to watch The A Team pick them up immediately after that. DETAILS: Angelica dropped the Superstar Championship to Kitty Hawke in their first meeting, and while they haven't gone toe to toe for a second time, something tells me that these two are more than ready to put on another demonstration in violence and suffering. We've put them in one of the most dangerous matches there is, and we expect them both to be pleased by the idea. We'll litter the ringside area with weapons too, so there won't be any shortage of suffering.

Kitty: Kitty did what she normally does. She gives you a story that moves quickly, and if full of details. Kitty started with a private meeting and you saw the payoff throughout the match from the cage being electrified to the lights going out. Kitty did well at selling Angelica, and putting across her own “Damaged sex kitten persona” While the action might not of been “traditional” It was good in the context of the story.



Angelica: Angelica was good too, but I had some issues with some of her early work. The first person seemed rushed in the early posts. To me first person at it best gives the reader insight to the person's inner thoughts/feelings. Another pet peeve I had as a reader was the idea that Angelica as a half vampire can just fall off a hell in the cell and the rest, and never really sell any of it. I get that she can take a larger amount of abuse, but at the end of the day there was too much” I knew that and I was ready for that” in the RP for my liking.



So for the match. I think the best posts were in the latter part of the match. Once the action started. I thought Angelica finally got her feet under her and “The old friends” help could start paying off on Kitty's side. So far as who won. Kitty takes it home and retains her belt. This is no slight on Angelica. Who if she can refine her heel gimmick a bit more could very well take the belt....

After a month in which Draven switched the Bromance into women's bodies, and Aaron into a hulk and a blob....this one is bound to get a little bit out of control. So why try and control it at all? Instead, the Bromance's first defense will be a Texas Tornado match. And to make sure that the referee can handle all of the action going on, we're going to name two of them:

WINNER: This one stopped being in doubt when the sim bent Homicide over and shoved a 2x4 up his ass. With that said, it was a very action filled read once you got past the first day, and that kind of effort by both teams tends to lead to a dangerous amount of chaos in a match. Throw in some posting by Genocide, Eve Riley and Alan Scott and what you get is good old fashioned anarchy. There were some misses, some minor no sells, and a couple of things that I thought were just piss poor selling, but in the end they had only a minimal impact on the outcome of the match. Winning by 12 or winning 2 doesn't really matter to the winner. The Bromance closed the big gap, but not nearly enough to make up 12 points. We have new champions; The A Team.

DETAILS: Last week Chance bailed on her match and her tag team partner: Alexei Grim. On the following Polarity she came out and made sure that everyone knew that she bailed because she considered Grim beneath her as a partner. She then stepped even further out and called her replacement a two time loser on the card. We're about to find out how smart it was for Chance to be poking Angelica with a stick, and to make things a little bit more interesting....nobody is going to stop this match until one of the women busts the other one open. Incidental blood won't cut it. In fact, to make sure that it takes the right kind of effort, we're going to name a referee who understands this kind of thing.

The match was well written by all three competitors, there just wasn't as much writing there as I would have liked. The match was just starting when it ended. The winner by landslide - Stan Daniels.

DETAILS: Its been two months since TEAM SBFF were questionably defeated for the Tag Team X-Cellence Championships and in that time the greatest tag team in wrestling hasn't gotten so much as a rematch from anyone. Now they're calling out anyone and everyone who think they have what it takes to hang with the very best the division has seen in a long, long time. Hell, they're opening the show, and according to Genocide "the only reason it won't be Match of The Card is that there isn't anyone out there stupid enough to fight us unless the Powerbase makes them!" Is he right? He might be. Alan Scott's opinion was that "Honestly? We're so far above and beyond the other teams, you almost can't blame the recent run of champions who have done nothing but hide from us."

That's a lot of smack from one of the all-time great teams in Federation X.

DETAILS: Alan and Homicide have been simmering for a long time, and now it is time to add a chapter in an I Quit match. Now knowing the men like I do neither will say I Quit. So we are taking it out of their hands. They have to pick a second. NO TAG Partners. In fact this will happen in a cage and the back stage will be cleared so there is No interference!

Both seconds will have a towel. You toss it in to end the match for your man giving the win to the other man

WINNER: This is exactly what we've all come to expect from these two. Both competitors start the match with a bang and never look back. Homicide continues his character development nicely, but doesn't let that side story detract from the match itself. Alan counters with his own signature style of outstanding match action with back story used to paint the surrounding scene in broad strokes. Homicide's match action, while still not quite to the level of the best in the game, has improved, gaining a fluidity that it has lacked in the past. Both men save their best post for last. Homicide coming to grips with his fears and the rejection of his father, then pushing through it to find determination to win was excellent. Alan matches it with a rare look into his own childhood, giving some insight into why he is so determined to prove himself the best ever. The RP section of my scorecard is literally separated by less than a quarter of a point. Homie takes the early advantage but Alan comes back strong to take finishing rights by the slimmest of margins. The RP Bonus is tied, but the SIM has Homicide up by 1 point, overcoming the hair-thin RP lead of the champion. Winner and NEW X-Factor Champion - Homicide.

It's enough for the win though, and the finishing rights. Solid match.

DETAILS: Homicide and “Money Talks” have had issues since they first crossed paths. At the PPV they are going into a tag team match. So why not give the people a taste! I like it. Tonight partners are banned from ringside in this normal wrestling match, but I KNOW it won't stop these guys from going hard!

WINNER: Back and forth. That's the only way to describe this thing. Homi looked dead after he simmed, but then Risen simmed and brought him back into it. Each man traded bonus points off with the other, so it came down to Homi overcoming the two point lead that Risen entered sim with. In the end? He was the better writer, but it didn't pull him through completely. Risen hangs on to barely get the win.

DETAILS: I always liked the old bingo hall ECW. The thing I loved the most, besides the sex and violence, was the OLD school 3 way dance. Three people entered and it took two pins or submissions to end the match. No count outs, No DQ's. So you get pinned and you're out - take a shower. You are done for the night. The winner is the one that does not get pinned or submit.

And by match I mean epic story about how fat Aaron is now. Genocide made it known that he's done with the X-Ecutioner division, and he started the match lined up as the referee. I thought he was a damn good one. Some terrific selling for the most part, and a good mix of action, humor and dialogue. In the end I thought that the man who dominated the sims also squeeked out the best work on the boards, although very narrowly on that front.

DETAILS: Malice escaped elimination last week, but only barely. If he wants to make it back to a fully 'employed' status he's going to have to do better this week, and he's going to have to do it in a much more difficult situation. Like the inside of a cage filled with some other guys who's future is in doubt. DETAILS: I know what your thinking. The SUPERSTAR Champ, and the most decorated woman in the history of Fed X in a card opener? Yup it's true! Chance says she is “The Star of the Show,” but it's easy to get over in a Main Event. Doing it in an opener is another story. So we are going to give her everything she needs to steal the show. But not in an easy way! She's teamed up with a Grim (Alexei finally getting his chance to shine) and she's in the ring with the two people who are competing for the title of 'Most chaotic wrestler ever.' Just to make sure it doesn't get boring though......we'll put it inside a steel cage and say that whomever gets out first (as a team) wins.

WINNER: There was some excellent story to read in this one, and there was some great give and take. The biggest shortfall was that Chance had to have a last minute replacement (Angelica gets kudos for jumping in!) and her partner wasn't able to work to his full ability. That cost the team as they give up a slight sim edge to the rp work by Kitty and Draven. Extra posts helped nail this one down.

DETAILS: After coming close in their first official title shot, The Bromance are back for a second crack at the top tag team in the company. The HOT Girls held on to defeat Twisted & Sadistic at the pay per view, but now they're going to have to find another gear because the number one contenders are as dangerous a team as they've faced during their title reign.

SIM RULES: Sim each of your opponents 2 times each using Standard match. Use your extra match any style, Against one member of the opposite team. Teammates cannot sim the same person with their extra match. All matches to be simmed on the 8th, unless you are double booked.

WINNER: The sim in this match actually turned out pretty tight, and some late insertions by Adam Draven actually shook up the results by time crunching a couple of people. The net result was that the match hung on a two point balance for The Bromance on the sim and the fact that Nate Daniels scored only one bonus point in RP, and posted only four times. The issue of bonus points was resolved when Homicide scored all three, balancing himself and Nate at four with The Hot Girls.

What does all of that mean? It means that it was a roleplay match.

The early going for three of four people was hurt by the fact that day one posts had little, to nothing to do with progressing towards the match. Note for people to consider when I'm their judge; if it doesn't relate to the match in SOME way.....I don't understand what it's doing in a match container. It reads like filler, and while it may be interesting and compelling to the character, if you can't tie it back to the upcoming match in some way, you need to get it out on the main boards. Another comment I have that can be shared across a number of people is that I'm not a fan of the crossing of the match being a 'work' with the real emotions of a fight. It doesn't read well to me, and while I thought that Homicide did a good job of trying to rationalize it, I didn't like it. If you're going to be a worker like Marlowe was, I think you have to commit to it. This half and half stuff gets messed up in the writing and going back and forth. It doesn't make for a tight read. Finally......be aware of the tense of your writing. All of you are prone to changing tenses during a post.

Now by person:

Eve: See the two above points, and otherwise a good solid effort. I'd like to see more personal growth in Eve during confrontations like this. I don't want her to be interchangable with anyone else during a match, and the way to achieve that is to make it matter to me that I'm reading about Eve at that moment. Your match flow is strong; almost as strong as Chance's.

Chance: Understands match flow perhaps better than anyone else in the game. That said, the work on structure of writing has to continue to develop to reach her full potential. You also need to make sure that you're selling what is laid in front of you. I felt like you missed some things through either a lack of focus on earlier posts or a lack of commitment to pushing your opponent's position. Good for you to try and draw us straight into match related character positioning right off the bat, but I would like to see more growth in her emotional state. It seems to me like I'm seeing the same things repeated in that vein.

Nate Daniels: The first two posts were very reflective of the group comments I made up above. I also found the whole 'ZEN' moment he shared with Homicide a bit of a struggle to get to. That could be me missing an aspect of Nate that you've developed in posts I haven't followed closely enough, but it seemed like a miss to me in this match. If Nate has that aspect to him, we need to see more of it and understand it. Your final post was solid.

Homicide: Homicide worked very hard throughout the match, but like Nate and Eve, suffered from the tense changes and the lack of match focus in the early going. The thing I like about Homicide is that he's in a state of emotional growth almost every match. I'm not sure how long you can keep that fresh, but while you do, it's gold. In your final post you worked the 'work' and the 'feud' angle in the same post. That didn't seem like something that a guy committed to being the very best would even consider. You benefitted from doing the sixth post as it was a point and a half better than the second one, and not only solidified the outcome, but got you Finishing Rights!

Their conflict is about control, so let's see who has power over who.

DETAILS: At Reckless Insanity Angelica reached what many consider to be the pinnacle of Federation X. She doesn't get any time to enjoy the view though, because her first title defense is against a dangerous and deserving opponent. I'm not sure which of these women embraces violence more, but I do know that when I say that falls count anywhere, we're going to see some crazy shit! May the hottest best woman win!

WINNER: Angelica: She seemed to falter slightly in the beginning. Her narrative was sparse in the first post. If she had gotten to the match more quickly, she may have gained a higher point score in the beginning. However, her early posts lack a certain amount of narration and descriptiveness that I look for. We get a general idea of where her head is at from the first post, but I would have liked to have seen more of what she did in her post following Kitty’s first use of silver sooner, as well as an entrance. As soon as the match started, she hit her stride. Delivering action which was well paced, interesting, and balanced(an improvement from her previous match against Nate Daniels), with a nice peppering of high spots.

Kitty Hawke: Kitty Hawke is a writer that knows her strengths. They lie in narration and setting the scene. From her very first post, I could almost see the images in my mind. She plays to these strengths in the early match. Her first post setting the tone and stage for everything else. She put Angelica on the defensive with the first usage of silver, and continued to do so through most of the beginning of the match. In fact, if there was a true, definitive weakness in her match, it lies in the action itself. Much of her writing in the actual match was spent describing everything else around her that the actual posts themselves didn’t have a lot of actual fighting in them, where Angelica’s did. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does allow Angelica to carry the action, which she did, in her posts.

This was an extremely close one for me, and neither performer should feel shame in the effort they put forth.

In the end, the winner was Kitty Hawke.

DETAILS: Always pushing the limits. That is what we've seen over the four months that Alan Scott has absolutely dominated the X-Factor Division. Whether it was the match within a match against Genocide, or the title versus title match against Storm, or The Crazy 8, Alan Scott has continued to raise the bar for all future champions. Now he is putting out notice that he will defend his championship on every card until he is defeated, making him the hardest working X-Factor Champion ever. His first opponent for an unscheduled defense?

The Sim slammed the door on Stan, but he has nothing to hang his head about.

DETAILS: These two men just went at each other last week, but it didn't resolve anything. With Risen paying for anyone and everyone who's willing to show some blind loyalty, we don't know what kind of shot Sin's going to get, but at least it's a title shot. Fair? Well we can't promise that. If the new stable shows up, anything could happen. Hell, Risen might just offer to settle their differences with a check.

DETAILS: Try and keep up.....Carnage wanted a piece of Alan, but the champion wasn't biting. The A-Team wanted a rankings match, but Team SBFF had other ideas. In the end, The Powerbase is overruling the SBFF's and giving both Carnage and The A-Team what they want. In an all RP match it will be Carnage and Eleazer teaming up against Adam & Aaron who are getting their rankings shot at Alan & Geno. The winning team (assuming that it is actually a team that is going to be together!) will become the #3 contenders to the Tag Team Championships.

WINNER: Winner: Carnage and Eleazer both no-show, turning this into a straight tag match - and quite an interesting one. Adam apparently has decided to carry on the legacy of his father, the demented Doc Kiebler. Both Aaron and Genocide receive a taste of Adam's new-found "medicine" - with mixed results. On the positive side, both formulas work more or less the way Adam intended. On the negative side, they worked almost too well. Aaron is going to have quite a bit of work ahead of him, getting accustomed to working with 150 fewer pounds on his frame, and Geno is going to have to find some way around his new-found honesty, or he's going to be missing a couple of small but important body parts.

This was a fairly well-written match by all four of the characters who showed, and it looked for the first two days as if the match was going to be decided by a few breaks in selling (HONEST Alan Scott lying?). The difference ultimately proves to be Alan Scott's time restraints, however. Leaving 2 bonus points on the table and only getting up 4 posts hurt him. Adam and Aaron take advantage of the opening and snatch up all their available bonus points, giving them a narrow victory. Winner - The A Team.

DETAILS: Somebody should have told the new guy just what he was getting in to. It seems like he's aggravated The Pernicious One and now he's going to have to fight the most dangerous man in the company. Assuming, of course, that Joe is actually alive after the recent explosion. The two men are scheduled to meet in the private underground garage at the Coliseum and fight until only one of them can answer the 10 count.

WINNER: Joe Power: His first post didn’t do much. Bad for him. His next posts though were what we come to expect from him. Not masterpieces by any stretch of the imagination, but solid work nonetheless. At times he seems a bit TOO larger than life, but that’s just the character. Having CCC crap himself was an interesting touch.

CCC: His work is hilarious. The character is very interesting. The writing itself needs some polishing. Both in grammar and in pacing. He seems to get lost in his dialogue a little too much, leaving the setting of a scene and the action as an afterthought. I like how the character switches from being proper and polite to vulgar at the drop of a hat.

DETAILS: For the better part of a month the picture of what the main event at Reckless Insanity would look like has changed and evolved, but it has now become clear. While we always knew it would be a CRAZY 8 challenge, with the X-Factor Championship on the line, how the seven challengers would be chosen has been in a constant state of flux. Now, with the seven chosen we need only to make sure everyone understands the Crazy 8 itself.

The Crazy 8 is a match that almost defies explanation. Here's what it looks like:


There are two sides of of a chain-link cage set up in front of the ringside barrier. There are four ropes hanging from the rafters at the mid point of each side of the ring just outside of the ring ropes. There are four mini trampolines set up outside the ring one on each side. There is scaffolding in the corner opposite of the cage walls. There are tables and chairs scattered around the ringside area. The winner must climb and get the belt out of the rafters. This can be done by jumping from the scaffolding, climbing a rope and moving across the rafters, climbing the cage and jumping - any way you can imagine getting there is legal.

WINNER: This was a match with a lot of moving parts, and as such as a judge you have to look at things differently. It is nearly impossible to have threads plot, and story. As such I looked for good selling and concise action. everyone did well to keep this from devolving to a “Can you top this” spot fest. Thank you for that. There were highlights such as Geno and Alan's bond. Trauma “Embracing her Crazy." Alan's “fear of failure.” In the end I think this comes down to Alan Scott's “Tight match writing skills” vs Trauma's building depth in the context of a match . I liked the depth more as it is hard to like match action with so many. Not Scott's fault as his last post was the beat he did for the match. In the end Alan wins the match as he busted his ass for three days and Trauma slacked off on day one. Without that this would have been a draw as it was THAT close. I want to comment everyone who kept posting even after the sim. It was a good read

The first person to put the other one through a table wins. No other rules apply.

DETAILS: A long time ago I said that Angelica had proven that she had what it took to become the Superstar Champion, and that I hoped she would take my advice to heart. Now we find out if she's ready to prove me right, as her burgeoning conflict with Nate Daniels explodes into a championship showdown with only one rule; it isn't over until somebody says 'I QUIT.'

WINNER: The difference in this match was roughly one point. I liked how Nate Daniels took an early lead into the match, He set the tone for part of it, and Angelica followed along. That said, by the time she made her entrance she had sown the seeds of the angle which would dominate the match. The match action itself was solid by both competitors. You could tell that each person knew how to pace a match, how to make moves interesting, and how to make you want to see what they’ll do next. I like how Angelica included the crowd. I find that isn’t often done. There was one glaring problem: I feel as though she didn’t give Nate enough offense. Granted, her gimmick is of a special nature. Still, I think she may have gotten a teensy overzealous in the amount of abuse she dealt. Nate Daniels rolled with it all in stride, but towards the end I think he left what happened to Angelica in her hands, instead of trying to twist her angle around. Altogether, both did fantastic. I want to see a re-match, when Nate’s arm is healthy.

Apparently Alan Scott takes offense to how much time Colt spends "stalking our fine company" so he's requested that we put the challenge out there. Colt is something of a stuntman, but Alan claims he's a sissy in stuntman clothing. He wants a battle to the first blood to prove it. We can't make Colt show up, but we're pretty sure Alan's going to show up and talk some shit!

Unfortunately, the Stuntman's notification of the match must have got lost in the mail. By the time Colt found out there was a match, it was too late for him to hop a flight from Toronto to Montreal - which means that the two spent the match jawing back and forth via closed circuit feed. Fortunately for the fans, the non-match turned into a showdown between the first ever One World Champion and the first ever King of the Cage as Carnage came out to confront the X-Factor Champion. What happened? That's a story for Alan to tell.

Later in the evening he's got a shot at the X-Ecutioner's belt, but before he gets there he has to go one on one with a man who had a very impressive debut week in the company. Sinsemilla gets a shot to step up into the title picture after his strong showing against Eve Riley. The two men are going to have to fight on Rue St. Catherine, and just to make it interesting.....nobody cleared it with the local authorities. French speaking policemen can be very.....hostile to the english at times. Sure hope these guys can handle it!

She brought her 'A' game, and while it wasn't enough to overcome the SIM lead that Aaron built up, it was enough to get her the finish rights in the match. She didn't beat Aaron's roleplay effort by much though, as Triple A did a damn fine job himself. I thought things got a little difficult as the match wound down, but all in all this was a terrific look into both characters and their retinue. More match action next time would be a big plus! His name appears on most of the historic battles for the Bloodsport Championship, and he's not about to sit on the sidelines while The Scion of Suffering parades around with the belt and mocks all comers. WINNER: Matches like this one are tough as there are just so many moving parts and so many people. With that said I think there were highlights. From Trauma unleashing a “paranoia gas to the selling off effects, and “The HOT Girls” calling the action. Kitty did add to the match and I have to commend the selling of everyone as it made what could off made a hard read a lot more compelling. Ultimately Trauma had the active lead in sim points, and she maxed out in activity and bonus points to lock up the win.

WINNER: This was an interesting match. While I do not think it would be confused with a “mat classic” that was not the point as it presented a different side of Eve and gave a fresh perspective on the match. Sinsemilla came in as the rookie, and Eve came in looking to make the turn to “heel.” I think the way the match was done kept me in the match, and I thought the “inside view” was a new way to do something we have all seen before. The only thing I can point to is that in Sinsemilla's post I wanted more meat on the bones...more action. Eve Riley takes the win home.

DETAILS: Nate Daniels pulled out every dirty trick at his disposal - or at least a pretty good number of them - to take The Superstar Championship away from Battlestone. Tonight, he goes head to head with a man who is no stranger in Rylan Hearn. The two men had a series of brutal matches a year ago, and now the two women they both called friends aren't around to keep them civil. This might turn into a huge bloodbath. Why? Because around the ring are several twenty foot ladders. Hanging twenty five feet above the ring is a coil of barbed wire. To win the match and become the Superstar Champion, you have to retrieve the barbed wire and use it on your opponent until he is bleeding freely, then either pin him or make him submit.

RP RULES: Standard Superstar match rules with a 6 post hard cap for scoring purposes. For each day that a participant gets up 2 posts that are either a)not back to back or b)at least three hours apart they will receive 1 additional point to the day's rp score.

WINNER: Full marks to both competitors for this match, which was a very well drawn out competition that didn't waste any time in getting into the narrative of the two men's historic dislike for each other. Both men put forth a solid effort, and left little doubt as to why they are such prolific competitors and why they are always at or around the top of the Superstar Division. Of course I'm something of a stern taskmaster when it comes to roleplay judging, so we're not going to get through this without addressing some shortcomings as well.

Nate Daniels is an interesting guy, and he's really starting to flesh out his persona behind the mantle of the Superstar Championship. This match allowed us some much needed insight into his history, and let us see his nastier side. Nate does dialogue well, and uses it very effectively to give us insights. It doesn't just fill space. Early in the match he lost a little bit of ground to Rylan because I felt like it was Rylan who was introducing the creative story elements, and it was Nate who was reacting and selling them, although fairly well to be honest. Rylan also got to the action sequences a post earlier, which was beneficial to him, but one Nate got there, he did an exceptional job of keeping the story moving, while not forgetting that the match was going on. The biggest weakness in what I saw from Nate was a lack of really creative innovation. I felt like he did a lot of things to keep the match interesting, but I kept waiting for him to drop a bomb or turn it unexpectedly. Little 'wow' moments won't keep that belt on his waist for very long. He needs to learn to plan bigger ones.

Rylan Hearn took an early lead in the match on the strength of some excellent plot devices and some early action, mixed with terrific narrative and insight into his character. My belief early on was that Rylan was in control and was poised to take the championship from Nate, but I did see one thing that I was concerned would cost him if it continued to appear in his writing. In the end the decision didn't come down to minor selling mistakes, but I would suggest that Rylan just take that extra bit of time to confirm small facts about his opponent(s) before he finishes his post. IN tight matches these can make the difference. Ultimately though Rylan's achilles heel was length. As many of you have heard from me in the past, I'm pretty specific about the length of posts that I want to read. Rylan's descriptive prose, while excellent in terms of its technical merit, runs on and adds too much length. It was a recurring theme in his posts, as almost all of them were approaching double the recommended length for judging. Being more concise will not only allow Rylan to tighten up his matches, but it will allow his opponents and judges to tighten up their focus on the core elements of his writing as well. There is actually a penalty for being too long and not being direct enough (notably in my judging, although some other judges touch on this as well) and having this issue arise in almost all of his posts directly impacted the outcome of the match.

*It is my hope that Rylan will take this advice to heart, and reload for another run at this championship, as I consider him a very skilled competitor who could make a terrific Superstar Champion. This feedback can only make you more successful in future efforts, and while SOME people run away and quit when they struggle in roleplay....*cough*cough*.....maybe even cry that they were SCREWED instead of learning to put forward a better effort.....I hope you understand how to use this feedback to your advantage. I recognize that you put an enormous amount of effort into your match, and I don't want to see you discouraged by suggestions that you focus that effort more. You simply cannot turn in 2,000 and 2,700 word posts when the target is 1,000 and not have it impact your outcome. I see you as the type of player who belongs in major roleplay events, and if you can harness your technical skills and tighten up your prose, you will be a very difficult person to beat in the future.

Whatever they draw is what their OPPONENT must do in order to win the match. The card could say 'COUNTOUT' or 'PINFALL.' Then again, it could say 'FIRST BLOOD' or 'Land 5 Steel Chair Shots.' WINNER: It wasn't quite the match that it could have been, but Rude's sim advantage was simply too much to be overcome, even by the extra post that Rylan got up over him. In the future a rematch with both guys firing full cylinder will be sensational. This? This was just a taste.

DETAILS: At Affliction Battlestone managed to overcome the odds and take the Superstar belt away from then-Champion Homicide. In so doing, he earned the wrath of Homicide's tag team partner, Nate Daniels. And by strange coincidence, Nate is the number one contender for that Superstar Championship. So, let's put the two of them together in an Iron Man match - sixty minutes of solid action from two of the most solid technical wrestlers in the game. Whoever gains the most falls in the sixty minute time limit will be the Superstar Champion.

WINNER: As has become the norm with any Superstar Championship match, This match up pitting Nate against Stone was nothing short of fantastic. This one was a very close match up with some of the best match action I've seen in awhile. Both Nate and Stone worked together like a well oiled machine and the action flowed nicely even through the transition of one post going to the next. As a matter of fact I could find little to no short comings in the match up save one.

While Stone did an excellent job in the match, His second post bogged me down. While I found it interesting to read why Stone has the "Loner persona".....About halfway through the post I was ready to see it go a new direction. I hate to say it but it felt a bit like filler to me.

Regardless of this one post, The matchup was another great affair you expect from two people fighting over the Superstar Championship. Great work by both but as always...there can be only one winner...and that winner is.....Nate Daniels.

As for Stone, Don't let the loss get you down. I have no doubt we'll see this belt around Stone's waist again soon.

WINNER: This was a pretty solid match, given the fact that Ov was thrown to the wolves. Alan was solid as usual. I would have liked to see a little more from Battlestone, but I understand how hard it can be to get up for two matches when you're double-booked. Ov did an admirable job, but without a partner backing him up, Alan Scott and Battlestone take the easy win.

DETAILS: The Sack Man held this title for a good part of the summer, and now that Battlestone has vacated it, we decided to throw Sackie and the other two top contenders into a match to decide a NEW Harbinger Champion. DETAILS: The match to crown a new Superstar Champion boiled down to these two, and Homicide has called Battlestone out, wanting to prove that his first win over the man was no fluke. A cage also came into play during that first Superstar match, so let's put these two men in a Hell in a Cell match. That sounds like a winning idea.

WINNER: As I start to write my decision it is almost 3pm board time on Sunday. I started my review of the match a little over four hours ago. Why does that matter? Read on...

Homicide ~ I'm going to start by running down the work I feel that each person did, and with Homicide I have a lot of really great things to say. Each time that Jeff McCarthy competes in a match I find myself being drawn into the character's complex personality and social adjustment issues, and that's an important tool for a writer to take advantage of. Making me care about Jeff is a credit to the author. I don't want to nit pick on small fractions of a point being deducted here and there, so I'm only going to touch on areas I would like to see improved on going forward. Here's the first......I love the complex character that Jeff is, and I love that he deals with very real things......like a terrifying fear that reaches down deep enough to make him piss his pants. Unfortunately I find that sometimes the shift or writing to get out of that position and back to the macho 'I can overcome' mentality is too quick. Such a great job is done selling the shortcomings of the character that I really feel like it needs to be more difficult to overcome them. In the future.....and as hard as it is for a lot of writers.....I would advise worrying less about over coming those drawbacks in the same post......and maybe even at all. Those character 'flaws' if you will are what make Jeff great and different. Celebrate them more and I think you can only benefit. I also feel like some of the posts are short on quality action. After a couple of posts that starts to matter more and more in matches, and its an area where you can certainly improve. The fourth and sixth post were a touch light on that. Also, while I understood the reason for explaining the whole collission with the Hot Girls in the final post.....I didn't care about it at all. I wanted more of Jeff's unfolding drama. Rude could have run over the Hot Girls with a steamroller and watched their guts stretch out across the floor and I wouldn't have stopped to read it twice. The story was all really hanging on Jeff at that moment, and that's where the whole focus needed to be. Also, I thought you handled the situation with Nate well. A lot of players might have been infuriated by the fact that Battle took the opportunity to have your own partner swerve you during the match. You could have gone a number of ways with it. Instead you sold it. That part where you cut away to the Hot Girls? I would have loved to have seen that get filled with Nate trying desperately to make it clear that he DIDN'T swerve Jeff, while Jeff's feral release to rage prevented him from hearing it.

Battlestone ~ By far one of the best matches I've seen you do here in Federation X. First let's focus on the good. You handle action very well and anyone who's ever watched me judge can tell you that that shit matters to me. The more you stayed focused on it and on the drama unfolding in the ring, the better you performed in the post. Like Homie I thought you did a good job of working dialogue into the match in just the right amount, without getting lost in it. You also kept the match moving forward and didn't fall into the trap that cost you the last time out; letting a post go by without moving the match forward at all. Good work. Now, for areas where you can work on improving. You had two posts that didn't get to the 1,000 words that I use as a starting point for full points in effort. They cost you slightly, and I can tell you that as with all issues, a quarter of a point in this match MATTERED!! Early on you did some exceptional work selling. I thought you took some bold risks though in the later posts. You didn't convince me that Colt would have turned on Jeff and forgotten that he had come to Fed X strictly to insult and humiliate you, but you also didn't lose me on it. You tried to give reason to the decision, and while it made some sense.....it wasn't strong enough to make it a quality sell. The only other point which cost you some (and not as much as some people probably think it should) was having Nate attack Jeff. Some people will point to this as a MAJOR issue, because it's Jeff's tag team partner. I think it *might* be an issue, but it isn't as major as other will see it. Why? Because Jeff set it up in his earlier post and left it hanging out there for a while. Sooner or later it had to play out, and you decided to be the one to take hold of the situation and do it. Did you get it right? Probably not. Did it hurt you to do it? Yes. Did it cripple your score? No. I think you handled it as well as you could working from the information that Homie made available in his earlier posts, and you have to get some credit for not just ignoring the hanging plot device because tackling it was dangerous.

THE DECISION ~ This match was closer in points than the last one that I judged. Believe that or not as you will, since every judge seems to spew that crap out. Those who speak to me know I'm happy to say when its a squash......which this wasn't. The final points came down to less than one tenth of a point. In case anyone's wondering, I judge in quarter points, so once it all averages out there are tenths of a point on my scorecard. Otherwise we'd be talking about a draw. Given that it was a PPV match though, I couldn't have it be a draw. So I agonized over details. Here's what I came back to and I hope that both competitors overcome the difficulty of dealing with a match like this and bounce right back because in my mind this is a Match of the Month contender. I felt like Homicide was the more polished writer, with a smoother flow and a better ability to make me care about his emotional issue. I felt like Battlestone understood action and match dynamic better. Both men worked great dialogue and both kept the match moving forward well. Battle did a good job in selling and progressing Jeff's story without forgetting what his own story was, a shortfall in their last match. Jeff did excellent work selling the changing dynamic of his match and his relationships. It was superior work all the way. So here's how it broke down. Jeff managed to edge out Battle in a few of the judging areas . Unfortunately for him Battle scored noticeably better in the match action, which overcame those slight edges. In the closest match I've ever judged....

Battlestone is the new Superstar Champion.

DETAILS: Chance has been crowing pretty loudly about her Champion's Edge to anyone and everyone who will listen. Well, tonight she doesn't have it. If Chance gets herself disqualified or counted out the championship WILL change hands. Her opponents? One is one of the two people who answered her call for essays, Rylan Hearn. The other challenger is someone who has stepped up and earned a shot in impressive fashion, Angelica. And as luck would have it, not only does she have ties to Chance, she also now has ties to Rylan.

DETAILS: The HOT Girls have chosen The Runts as their opponents for the night. The dynamic here is pretty complex. Chance and Johnny have always had a bit of a rivalry, which came to a head this month when Johnny tried to make Chance confront her past. Eve on the other hand has shared one of the world's oddest friendships with Johnny, and hit it off pretty well with Mandy as well. So, let's just throw them all into the ring Tornado style. No tagging back and forth, just four people in the ring, fighting to see which pair will leave the Tag Team X-Cellence champions.

DETAILS: These two have shown up and decided that they just want to fight - each other. And it seems that there have been chairs involved at least a few of the times they got together. Mandy managed to escape Divina's clutches - ironically with help from Mr. Stone. But that doesn't mean we want to just forget about this match. OH NO! A match like this deserves some special rules - like, say, none. Bring what you want, do whatever you want. The only way to win is to make your opponent say "I Quit."

Nate has come in and in short order got himself on a roll, with a pretty nice four match winning streak heading into Affliction. Can the legend, the man who was never defeated for the X-Ecutioner championship be the one to end the streak? A contract for an X-Ecutioner Championship match will be suspended above the ring. The winner is whoever can climb the ladder and claim it.

DETAILS: What is an Aussie Rules Iron Man Match? Well, it's simple, really. This match starts the minute Alan and Stan bump into each other backstage - whenever and wherever that might be. The match will be fought under Iron Man Rules with a thirty second rest period between falls. Falls count anywhere, and the match lasts from whenever Alan and Stan start fighting until the opening bell for the Main Event. Whoever scores the most falls during that time period will be the X-Factor Champion.

DETAILS: So, Krusher had one really COOL idea for a cage that he didn't get to use during the KOTC, and he's graciously given us the OK to use it now. This will be a standard Cage Match - except for one thing. The cage is made of specially reinforced Dry Ice - it might crack, chunks of ice might break away, but the cage will hold. The Sack Man and Alexei - or Mr. Grim - will be locked inside of this cage and turned loose. Winner is the first to score a fall of any type. They say that your skin starts to feel the effects of frostbite after roughly four seconds contact with dry ice. Maybe we'll find out.
